The newly built hotel Maistra 160 is located in a central location in the village of Pontresina. Architectural models from Engadine hotels influenced the design of the new building, but were reinterpreted in the design process. In collaboration with interior and lighting designer Martin Nievergelt, the Swiss lighting company BALTENSWEILER developed a wall light customized for this project.

The LINIjA Vario Beam, developed as a custom lamp, is an extension of the existing LINIjA lamp family. With its timeless, purist design and functional versatility, the wall lamp fulfills various needs. Designed for wall installation in bedside tables, the spotlight blends seamlessly into the room concept. 

The lamp head can be tilted and rotated as required, with an integrated rotation lock preventing over-rotation and ensuring maximum safety. An outstanding feature of this custom luminaire is its variable beam angle. By simply moving the focus knob on the top of the spotlight, the beam angle can be continuously adjusted to direct the light exactly where it is needed. It can be conveniently operated via a DALI wall switch, which allows the light intensity to be adjusted as required. With the dimming option, the perfect atmosphere can be created for every moment.
